#BlackLivesMatter -- Linking Social Justice and Wellness

In the wake of the murders of Geroge Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the subsequent worldwide reaction, we released a statement on our social media pages expressing our solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, and our support for the protesters and advocates who are taking a stand against police brutality and racism. This podcast delves deeper into this topic, explaining why it’s important for Indigenous people to support #BLM, how we can do so (outside of the realm of social media), and some personal stories related to the topic of racism. There’s no doubt that wellness and social justice are inextricably connected — this falls under the circle of “Community” in our Seven Circles of Wellness structure. We find it necessary to be good relatives to the Black community during this time, just as they have been supportive of our civil rights. Thanks for listening.
